Hi guys,

I am almost done with my decision to upgrade to 2013 model. I love new design and Magnetic Bronze color.

I do not want AS version but I really want to have inverted fork on the bike (electronical adjustment is not a must for me). I asked my dealer in Slovakia and he is going to check with Yamaha if there is a possibility to order A version with this option - I am really looking forward for the feedback.

Does anybody from you know if this is possible?

I really doubt there's an option for getting the forks as an option. You'd probably have to order the forks separately as parts and replace.

Not to mention the brakes themselves.... Maybe even the fender.

Kinda changes EVERYTHING when the dimensions at the mounting points change!

Sounds like we need someone with deep pockets to undertake the swap. Even leaving off all the electronic gizmos and having a standard USD fork would be a huge improvement.

Anyone up to the challenge?

NOT necessarily true! What if the "standard" units are better than the USDs to begin with???

There may be options available to those of you in Europe that we do not have here. You fellows certainly get more color and configuration variations than those of us here in the U.S. Good luck.

I got $10 that custom ordering an A version with USD forks is NOT an option.

It would have to be done aftermarket, but except for the electronic suspension stuff there shouldn't be any electrical issues. You'll just have to change everything from the triple tree down.

That is a bet I am not taking. I am betting with you on this. There is no telling what options the Euro guys get or will get though.

I'm sorry all the 04 valve ticks are used up. You will have to settle for 03 or 05.

Other than the *bling* factor, why are USD forks such a big improvement on a sport touring bike?

We do have more colors and may be also options in Europe, but I will be glad to have just one and the same price as in NA.

With today exchange rate A version in Europe is 23.600 USD (17.290 Euro) and AS 27.100 USD (19.990 Euro) ...

I tried BMW K1600 and also Kawa 1400GT (in NA Concours) - suspension there is better than on FJR. I was expecting by new FJR that Yama will do something here as well.

I did not have a chance to compare difference on 2013 A and AS version to judge improvement - hope in spring I will have this opportunity - but with new bike I expected improvement between Gen's.

I suspect the suspension was better because of better components. Not because the forks were inverted.

Im with Scoot on this. I dont understand the big deal other than bling.
