Considering changing wheels to chrome(much easier to take care of).

possible consider getting stock wheels chromed on an exchange basis.

Any help appreciated.

Ok. on the Chrome. Has anybody done something creative with powder coating? Pix.
Way back in the mid-80s I had a 500 Interceptor that I had the stock wheels powder coated to look like magnesium. Looked ok, pretty durable finish. But nothing to get excited about. I like that polish & paint idea. And if Warchild's suspension group buy and the Russell saddle group buy come though, well, with the bike down I might as well pull a wheel and go to it.

What's the best way to sand down those wheels? Wet/dry sand paper and a ton of patience? Start with XXX grit and work your way to XXX grit for the polished sections, then mask the polish, paint the spokes and then clear coat the whole thing? :huh: How about tire changes? Do they mess up the clearcoat?
