I may have to go the remus route in the not too distant future.....

Will have to see how the stock seat holds up on the Big Bear trip next weekend.

Oh, I dig the smuggler.. I wish It would fit my bike.. I wonder.. does it just replace the rear pad.. I still have stock seat pans...

Which fork brace is that in the pic? BTW I like the Pazzo levers. I have a set of repsol blue with silver adjusters on my blue ST1300. I don't like the cost of them though.

Well TWN and Duff just left the house, Tim came to pick up a shield and Duff came to install my Heli triple clamp ( although he didn't know it when he got here). Gary managed to install the triple clamp in less than an hour........
Would have been 30 minutes flat if you had a decent drill bit!

Proper tool for the proper job...

Here Fairlaner tries to take a shortcut with a screwdriver...

After I removed the tools from his hands, I was able to complete the magical transformation...

Actually, I had a lot of fun doing the swap. Having all the correct tools around sure makes the job easier. Having the correct people around makes the job FUN! Thanks for the hospitality... now you can ride north and work on my bike...

...er, maybe not. :dribble:

After the ride, TWN and I headed for the coast for the ride back up north...

...it SUCKS living in Claifornia!

You wouldn't believe how much I hate this...

...really! :clapping:

Whoa, wait a damn minute! In Post #85 in the third picture above the Heli triple clamp: Is that a stain on the white tile that I see, or do my eyes deceive me? Silver Penguin: Please issue a demerit to Richard immediately! Oh, the horror of it all!!!

It's really nice to have a mechanically talented and good friend like Duff-Gary, that will help you with your farkling projects.

Actually, Mr. SkooterG has helped me install most all of the farkles on Miss Lucy Liu, my 2003 FJR, in his Scottsdale garage.

Only problem with that is: I have to listen to GregM talk while he works on Lucy! Fortunately, I never remove my earplugs!

Richard to the Headmaster's office immediately please! There will be a deduction of ten house points if that stain is still there. And no boy, we do NOT want to know what it is.

(Since I'm reading this post about 2hrs after it was posted, I'm pretty confident in thinking that Richard has taken care of the matter, long ago.)

Unfortunately marks like that cannot be removed with these crappy tiles you have to replace the whole tile, I tried to find them recently but it appears that they don't make them anymore.

The plan is to redo the garage either later this year or early next so i am not too worried about it.....

Wow Skooter just sent me a link to this thread...To this day TWN was/is the only other person to ride my 08......wish he was here to ride the "13" when it gets here.

You wasted no time or $$ getting farkled up. Looks nice... pssst..... need new pipes....

OK what about the SS lines, etc? Well... where are they...? I expect this puppy to be fully farkled by the 23rd.

I am going to refrain on the Hexacones for now and the stainless lines are a pain to do on an ABS bike (from what I hear) so i am gonna leave that for now....

Maybe Smitty will do it for me when he comes west.. ( yes it is in the works).

i have enough farkles left to put on to keep me busy for a few days yet. <img src="https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" :p " border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Very nice Richard. Did you save your old shock to install on this one? I hear the fork brace is not required on the Gen II models as they have the extra bushing in the forks. I will be interested to hear if it helps any. Suspension work I assume is coming?Lew

no news yet......
