Keep in mind Yamahas torque specs seem to have been specified with the intent of the bikes surviving being used as numchuks by Godzilla. Way too often guys torqueing to spec strip stuff out. Go light and the threads might live to see another day. How light? Maybe 10% less than written. Can't really say, as I do most bolts by feel developed over 40 years of tightening.

Just used hex sockets on my torque wrench. I would go to the low side of the stated values just to ensure (hopefully) no stripping. Be sure to get down in there good if you have a bolt in a deep well. I did not tighten mine enough and had a bar shift on a quick stop the other day, sorta disconcerting...
