WeSTOC 21 - Grand Junction, CO August 29 - September 2, 2016

I mentioned WeSTOC 21 in another thread and promised I would start a port in the proper location.

Are you interested in hanging out with other sport touring riders for a few days in a great riding location? WeSTOC could be for you!

This will be the 21st version of this rally which is hosted at a different location in the western States each year. This year we'll be in Grand Junction, CO in late August. While this rally was started as an Honda ST event many of our long time attendees have moved onto other bikes including FJRs. Who knows, I might be there on an FJR this year too!

We welcome anyone with a passion for sport touring to attend. This is a hotel based, 4 day event with riding in a beautiful part of the country. An opening night riders meeting with dinner and a closing night banquet with door prizes. Hopefully a vendor or two will be there to present to us. Lot's of GREAT people, about 160 last year in Spokane Valley, WA. Come tell lies, kick tires, drink beer with us!

Looks like I'll be attending WeSTOC on an FJR after all! D&H Cycle in Alabama, one of the best places to buy an FJR, has also agreed to help us out by sponsoring the event! We'll be in Grand Junction, CO at the end of August. If you haven't been to the Grand Messa area before you should consider joining us!

We’re pleased to announce that Richard Battles, owner of RKA Luggage, will be joining us at WeSTOC this year! He will be conducting two seminars during our rally.

The first presentation will be Monday night at the riders’ meeting and is entitled “The R.I.D.E.,” a seminar on communications systems. On Tuesday morning Richard will conduct his second seminar entitled “So, I gotta video camera, now whattaidowithit?”

Richard has also generously agreed to donate some door prizes for the drawing at Thursday’s closing banquet.

This year's design features a 4 color STOC logo on the front incorporating a stylized version of the Colorado State flag. The 3 color graphic on the back depicts Grand Mesa, the largest mesa in the world, located just east of Grand Junction.

The recon team made their way to Grand Junction a couple of weeks ago. The hotel, restaurant, rooms and meeting spaces look top notch. The staff is friendly and the hotel has a free shuttle van which will take you anywhere within 5 mile which will get you to all of the restaurants in downtown Grand Junction. The temps were 95-100F in Grand Junction but a comfortable 70F up in the mountains. The routes have been tweaked and there is a new ZIP file with GDB, GPX & JPG maps for your use. So far 112 lucky people are coming to WeSTOC 21! Less than two weeks remain to sign up for WeSTOC at the regular $80 rate. After Friday July 29th the registration rate goes up to $90. The last day for registration is August 22, one week prior to WeSTOC. There is no “walk-up” registration for this event…

Rooms at the Double Tree Hotel:

We have less than 10 rooms available in our room block. The Double Tree has graciously increased the block size several times and also extended the booking deadline to August 5th. There are no additional rooms available to add and after August 5th any unused rooms, if there are any, will be returned to the hotel. If you are still thinking about attending WeSTOC be sure and reserve a room. If you have reserved a room for WeSTOC which you cannot use please contact the Double Tree Hotel and release your room back to the block.

Deadlines:

1. WeSTOC registration prices go up to $90 Friday morning.

2. You have a little more than 1 week to order your WeSTOC 21 t-shirts. All proceeds from these sales will be placed into the banquet prize fund.
