Why does the Feej have a heat shield on the right, not on the left?

Is the heat shield only on the left side because the thinking is that you keep your right foot on the brake at stops and your left foot goes down to the pavement? So your right would be exposed to more heat?

Not sure who is stopping on these, I try to avoid that as much as possible....

The heat shield is well behind where the rider's foot would be. It is more likely intended to protect the passenger than the rider. On the left side the step lever for the center stand, and the side stand both come up and keeps a passenger's foot away from the pipe, so there would be less need for a shield there.
