I was driving in to work today in the dreaded commuter traffic and saw this crotch rocket go buzzin by me. No big deal........rocket driven by guy with no helmet and a T-shirt.........see that every day right?

Well something looked odd and I did a double take and saw he was transporting a mountain bike on the back of his sportbike! He buzzed by too fast for me to get a good look at it, but it looked like he had rigged it somehow so it bolted to his pegs and a small rack on the back. The front tire was off the mountain bike and vertically on the right rear side of the bike. The back tire was jutted up into the air from the rear of the rocket and across the rear of the rocket. The front forks of the bicycle went down the left side of the back of the rocket and were bolted or strapped or something down near his left foot bracket. I couldn't help but think that while the bicycle prolly doesn't really add a lot of wind resistance, it's got to change the aerodynamics significantly at freeway speeds! That and the whole balance and just generally in the way aspect of his contraption.

I've seen guys carry all sorts of stuff protruding from backpacks and smaller items strapped to trunk racks and tanks and such, but never a full framed mountain bike. So it immediately made me wonder what other odd, bizarre, or crazy things you guys have seen other scooters totin' around?

Well, I once carried my wife, two ceiling fans, and two 10-foot poles.

...Let me tell a little story about a man named Jed,...

lol i particularly like the enormously long cardboard box and the heavy machinery/tools he has strapped on the back. I suppose I'm a prude for safety, but that seems so dumb to do........especially on a regular basis!

#1 - SkooterG after the 05 Cal 24 rally. It was the first time Flipper showed him 'rollover'. A group decided to go grab breakfast and I had to take Skooter bitch to Denny's.

#2 - New set of tires to a friends house to do a tire change.

I had one of my scuba students show up at Lake Tahoe on a motorcycle once. He was completely dressed out in scuba gear and a helmet. He had the weights, tank and all on. I wish I had a camera with me that day.

Don't remember who originally posted this picture, but I think it wins.
Of course that would be in Korea. I saw shit like that over there all the time....

The weirdest thing I ever saw on a bike was a basket crammed with live puppies. They were for eatin'. Yeah, it was in Korea.

They eat puppies live over there? :dribble: Now that's cruel...almost like goldfish eating contests.

I guess some might think my cargo was odd.......

I once transported a "Y" pipe (the tubing that connects the left and right header to the tailpipe) for a 350 Pontiac Tempest. The car was already disassembled and I had to get it home, from the parts store somehow. It wasn't too hard but it was weird.

Just today coming back to work from lunch I saw a guy riding with a fully loaded backpack, and holding his newly-minted-and-framed college diploma with a couple of fingers on his clutch hand, and trying to work the clutch with the other two.

I only saw him long enough for him to leave a light and take the onramp to the interstate. Wonder how far he got?
