    popping out of 2nd

'03 with 105K miles - momentary skip in the drive train. It has happened a 4 or 5 times when accelerating on an uphill entrance onto the freeway - 2nd gear, under load at about 6-7K rpm.

    Original Battery

Might not be a bad idea to have one on hand. Five years and four months, 95K miles and mine went dead without warning.

    Front Wheel Bearings Went Bad

I've recently ordered new front wheel bearings and seals for my '03. They aren't making any noise but I can feel them when cornering. No pressure wash, very few wheelies, 96K miles.

Jackson, Ohio, John's Kawasaki and Yamaha

Back in 2002, on the second day of the PDP, I walked into the shop as a total stranger. La Dean, the owner was already up to speed on the FJR and said she would get papers out by next day mail. I took delivery of my '03 in mid July. To this day, even though I only get down to the shop a couple...

    Yammie Foot Guard Rehab

Used to use ArmorAll or WD40 to clean up the rough unpainted plastic on the dirt bikes. Probably not the best thing to use just before a paint job, but if you haven't already, you might want to give it a try.

    Texas vacation ?

Not exactly what you were asking, but a couple friends and I were in the Taos area last year, the second week of April. We ran into a little bit of cold and windy weather, but had some good weather as well. The roads were clear and dry but often had snow on the shoulders. The Denver area had...

    Wilbers Ship Notification

What a shame. I'd hate to be working on the bike when the weather is so perfect. ;) You need a good day of 28 degrees and snow like we have up here in Ohio. :bleh:

Missouri & Arkansas riding in May

First time down that way? You're gonna love it. Missouri is a good time. If you've never spent time there, it would probably be good to have some local advice. They have a lot of fun and reasonably well maintained county roads, but stringing them together can be interesting. My familiarity...
