    2004 Connie

Fast enough to get you into trouble, I never had any significant issues with mine - carbs won't gum up if you use fuel stabiliser and the cam scoring mentioned above is solely cosmetic . . . . adjusting the valves was never a problem for me. The machines were in production for 20 years so they...

Riding in BC (you will be if you are going to NAFO)

Standing on the pegs or putting you feet out to stretch your legs can result in a ticket and also possible impounding of the vehicle if the officer feels like it

Riding in BC (you will be if you are going to NAFO)

From the MSN home page feature articles; Effective June 1, B.C. will add new regulations that will crack down on motorcycle riding. New fines will make helmets mandatory, but it's seating infractions that could result in you losing your bike. If motorcycle passengers do not have their feet...

Screwing by House Of Motorcycles in Vista, CA

I had a similar issue with a contract on the heat pump in my home. Small claims court is your friend - you have a bill of sale stating you paid for the extended warranty? You are covered . . . by Honda - they were (and are) a Honda dealer, -as such Honda ultimately is responsible for what they...

    Pulled over by CSI

I was thinking the same thing . . . Why is a Crime Scene Investigator doing traffic enforcement? You have to wonder if they even carry ticket books. Perhaps this was just some guy with a big black SUV and bunch of flashing lights (no government plate?) and a fake tin badge playing cop?

    SOS

It occurs to me (in a separate post because I can't edit my posts) that you can join instantly online and they give you a temporary card. Interesting enough they will also cover you for a hotel stay if there are delays - read the fine print available on the AMA site.

    SOS

I'm sorry that I can't offer any help, but for the future you might want to note that for a mere $39 a year AMA membership uncludes roadside assistance coverage for you, your family and all of their wheeled vehicles.

    Time to give up riding?

I'm on thinners as well since my bypass last summer - I was on the bike 2 days after I got home from rehab (I was in hospital for almost a month because I got an infection plus pneumonia). Didn't have a lot of stamina at first and the incisions hurt with every bump, but after a week or two all...

    Wow, what a great deal!

He does say you can run it through the local DOT and offers to have it titled - for a fee.

    Weird engines 101

Seems like they'd lose a fair amount of power through those rockers they use to drive the outer cylinders . . . .

State Bill Would Ban Aftermarket Exhaust

Up here is French-speaking Kanuckistan modifying exhausts has been illegal for years. AND they have noise limits as well. Doesn't seem to stop anyone from running straight pipes - so what makes anyone believe that the new law in Kalipornia will be any different? Even changing your headlight...

Grisly accident - stupidity to the nth power

You know, I've been giving this some thought and it occurs to me that there is probably no way they definitively can prove it was him except for circumstantial evidence since clearly they don't have the plate of the bike and likely there were probably few uniquely defining elements to the...

    Sport-tourer warranty

Extending the FJR's warranty to 5 years costs all of $389 in the US (unless you live in Florida, though there is a work-around for Flloridians). Kawasaki's C14 basic warranty is 3 years., extensible to 6. Honda's can be extended to 7.

    Allowing Test Ride when selling?

Quick answer; No way. You can demonstrate it. You can take it to the mechanic of his choice and have it checked out at his expense. But the last thing you want is to have the bike crashed (insurance or none) which reduces the resale value of the machine.

    Those damn scooters

Your comment about protection while bicycling hit home for me. 3 years ago a friend/riding buddy was killed when she did something foolish on her Harley - a mid-course correction at speed when she was headed to the wrong side of a split in the road; She hit the divider and her bike was...

    Those damn scooters

The right time for you to have confronted them was when they were feeling biiter about bikes . . . best impact. What makes this all the sadder is that they knew about helmets, had helmets and the father did not insist his son wear it. He's feeling guilty? He IS guilty. Kids have no common...

    Stickers??

Have you asked the dealer to remove them? I always specify 'no stickers' when I purchase a vehicle. I refuse to be an unpaid rolling billboard for the vendor. Perhaps they would like to compensate you acting in that capacity? Unless something has happened at Yamaha, the paint finish is...

    Even victims have to learn

They may well have been the accepted norm of 10 feet or one car length per 10 mph away from the driver - no one has suggested that they were tail gating in anything I've read. Assuming that they were at the requisite distance, they would likely have slammed into her. Why? Because this was a...
