FYI

Nelson BC is only 11 hours or so from Billings via the fastest route. For a few hours more, you could do Glacier NP and the Going to the Sun Road along the way. If you're that close, you gotta do it.

Edit: I could suggest a 30 or so hour trip to get you back to Billings that would knock your socks off!

Another Edit: Possibly a nicer ride from Billings to Nelson but timing depends on Kootenay Lake ferry. Not sure about some the road conditions on the US side.

Thanks Ross, but being that this is in July and the height of tourism season, I have the routes and lodging all booked for about an 8K adventure. Both Glacier and the Going to the Sun Rd are en-route on Day 9. I can tweak the routes somewhat as long as my destinations stay the same, but some of the days are already a 5am KSU.

My buddy and I have both booked rooms in Nelson. He's an FJR rider also. We plan to attend with spouses.

The bar at the Hume will I suspect be the de facto rally central - but we'll wait to hear from Jeff on that. Lots of nice restaurants in town but probably not any big formal dinner thing planned? There is a private dining room at the Hume that they might let us book if we had a critical mass (and if it's not already booked for some other group)

Take any road into or out of town and you're a winner. I'll be happy to lead a couple of day rides if peeps like. Just depends on how much people would like to bite off. Sylvia prefers shorter days...
