Gen I and Gen II headpipes are interchangeable

I posed a question months ago about being able to use a Gen I headpipe on a GenII. Today I found out they are interchangeable. I have a nicely decatted '05 headpipe that I wanted to install on my '08. It bolted right up and I couldn't find any measurable difference between the two. Although Yamaha lengthened the wheel base for Gen II, they apparently didn't change the length of the exhaust. I know Yamaha changed the part number for the Gen II headpipe, but maybe they changed vendors. In any event, this good news saved me some time and money.

BN - I know this is a stupid question, but why do you need a 3/8 staple :moil: when staying in a Holiday Inn (Express or otherwise)? Or is this part of some sort of self-bondage thing?

If you can't read this :blind: , get someone else to do it for you. Or do you need that anyway?
