A quick update.
We were in Montana this weekend, the snow @ 3200ft was still 2 feet plus deep,packed ice and snow. Night time temps 22F. The pass near us that is usually open at this time of year was shut.

First time for me was great weather(early Aug). Second time in the 90's on the way to AK, it was so foggy, I traveled the southern route(mid June). Mid June 2009, on the way to AK, a mud slide closed travel 13 miles up the east side. When I returned in July, made it up the west side to Logan's pass. Beautiful ride when the weather is cooperative.
