I know it's starting a potential oil debate but that's not the idea.

All I want to know is, what weight oil do you use (in the rear end)? I went to my local STEALER and they gave me Honda brand shaft drive oil 80W90 shaft oil. Is this the right weight? Unfortunately the owners manual doesn't say.

FLAME ON! :assasin:

Mike,

I believe it's 80W90 but Mama Yama does not say.

As you know, the Manual prescribes this Part #9079E-SH001-00 Yamalube oil that's gotta be the most expensive final drive lube on the planet  .

Many of us use Mobil red cap, Bel Ray, or even BMW final drive oils retailing at around $5,99/pint and they work just fine.
