Howdy Gang!

Anyone up for a ride this Sunday? I also belong to a small, local group we call the "Breakfast Riders", centered around Vacaville/Fairfield area. They've got a ride set up, starting in Fairfield, going to Occidental, and back, in a nice, 170mi or so loop. We'll meet at the old "Lou's Junction" parking lot, leave @ 0900 sharp. The following is a quote from their ride captain:

Start quote"The up coming run to Occidental, Sunday Sept 9th (leave by 9:00) is one of my favorites. Meet at Lou's Junction parking lot 3333 N.Texas. This run is full of twisties, including my special fave -- Spring Mountain Rd. This run may not be for everyone, but we have had big, low sleds take this run -- and they mostly enjoyed it <one rider swore he would never go on Spring Mtn Rd again>. The timid, the wisely cautious, the low, the big and heavy should just mellow down the throttle and enjoy the scenery. I have charted some new roads to keep us off the main roads and away from traffic (see below). The new roads while not all twists, do have a few. The Napa Co side of Spring Mtn is as sweet as ever. The Sonoma Co side has had some patches, but is still rugged at best. This ride will require square and alert heads to be attached -- no mental drifting.

These folks ride a variety of bikes, seem OK. A couple of my friends and I are going to check it out, been to Occidental a few times, a nice ride! Hope to see some of you guys there!

Sounds like a fun route. A few of us went to Occidental last weekend. I might be up for a ride tomorrow, but just been to Occidental as I said, and also, not sure I'd want to hook up with an unknown group of riders of unknown quantity and unknown skill levels. Have fun if you go, and stay safe!

Don't blame you, Hans. I'm going with a couple good friends, and if the group turns out bad, we'll just ditch them, and run the route on our own. See you next time!
