V1 Upgrade Question

I have a question for those who have sent their V1's in for the software/firmware upgrade for "POP radar" (what is that, btw, presumably not just "instant on"?)

Anyway, if I send it to them, do they upgrade and send back my exact unit? I don't know whether to go ahead and install the metal plate for the powerplate magnatic RAM mount, or wait until I send it in and get it back, if it'll be a potentially new (different?) unit.

Pretty sure it is just a mod to your unit. When I questioned them about sending in mine, they said not to bother at this time. Wait for an upgrade that is worth the cost.
