I had looked at Bike Bandit before I replied earlier and they do say GT is tube type. So Dennis, I don't see anything specifically saying GT on the UK site... and here's another good one...... look up sizes for any model of FJR and Bridgestone says "No..... won't fit your bike".........

He is correct, Bikebandit are a bunch of idiots. Why would a radial tire require a tube? Makes no sense to me.
With that out of the way, back to the tire review.
More pluses, the tire is actually very good in the slow, tight stuff. Since it does not fall into the turn, it gives loads of confidence. It also holds it's line on high speed stuff.
This tire has moved to the top of my list.
I also did some research, and the T30 reviews say it grips fantastic in the wet. Fancy that. Now we need to see the longevity and whether it will cup.

Well radial or not if you mount a tubeless tire on a spoked wheel without a tube the air will fall out through the spoke nipples.
The exception being BMW gs wheels .

Tube discussions aside, I worry about the wear characteristics. I've had or been associated with four or five Battlax's in the last decade or so, and each and every one (including the factory tire on my '12) has suffered sudden significant wear on the shoulders. I once left my abode in Orlando with thin but acceptable tread, rode 60 miles to Daytona, and on walking back to the bike seriously wondered if someone stole my tire, since I suddenly had cord showing in multiple locations.

I've always been a Michelin fan. Recently I tried Metzeler and I like their new Roadtec. You guys might wanna give those a try.

Placed an order for some 023GTs from local dealer. Just heard back that 023GT are being discontinued, being replaced by the T30GT. 023GTs, I hardly knew ya.
Just came across this while surfing. Not an in-depth review but helpful enough to seal the deal and go with them when my 023GT's expire.

Has anyone tried Pirelli Angel GTs on an FJR? I replaced a set of Bridgestones on a Suzuki GSX1250FA with the Angel GT and the difference was significant. I had about 4000 miles on the Angel GTs when I sold the bike and bought my 2014 FJR, and the Pirellis had held up well to that point. I had severe cupping on the Bridgestones after 4000 miles. I loved the feel and performance of Pirelli tires.

Had the T30s on the track and they stuck great. No slipping at all. No cupping yet, but they are not too badly worn. I will post up if cupping shows up and the wear life. Keep in mind I was never much of a Bridgestone fan, but like these new tires.

Be aware, these are tougher to put on than the 023's. A lot tougher. There's another thread where it was reported a tech tore the bead with the machine. I used a No-mar and it was a nightmare. You really need to finesse these.

Mine were not very hard at all. I wonder why our two experiences were so different? I let mine set in the sun first, that usually helps. I use the HF tire changer and three tire irons. Yes mine were the GT spec tires. Oh well, good to hear of other experiences.

The mechanic at Bentley's KTM, Yamaha, Polaris, did tear the bead on my T30. The replaced the tire of course, but the fix was to also replace the part on the tire changer that had worn and become sharp. The new one has a bearing that runs around the rim and a rounder profile to stretch the bead. The mechanic dismissed the idea the tire was more difficult than others, it was just "luck of the draw". It rarely, but sometimes happens.

We ended up heating the tire up a bit with a heat gun (just a little not crazy) and that helped. I think it's definitely a stiffer tire than the 023 but we'll see as more people put them on if it was just me.

Yeah, gotta couple thousand mi. on a set of GT spec T30s 'n be luv'in 'em.
Turn in's not as quick as Avon Storms, butt purdie close to PRIIs, (They turn in way quicker than the sucky, trendy, PRIIIs.) and as you so eloquently pointed out; they have a real solid/neutral feel banked over at the limit.
The only question now is wear; how fast are yours wear'in?
