I know several folKsmall did many of these routes on Dual Sports in conjunction with the Montrose CO event this year.

Everide's 4 part EMIG ride series is what started me down the path of bringing my DRZ to Montrose (thanks to work, I had to bail). It's on my bucket list and is likely to happen next year or the year after...

Us easterners best plan to get there a week or two early to acclimatize to the elevation whoever and wherever it is.

And enough with the "likely gonna happen." What you meant to say was "Colorado is gonna happen next year and Idaho the next." We had a deal remember?

As I keep tryin' to tell ya Marine...that everide guy will get you in trouble everytime. Damn schoolteachers.

There's a prescription drug that will help speed the acclimatization - thank Lee for doing that research; talked to my doc about it and he said it's common and had no problem writing a script for it

This is what you do Wayne: You come to Albuquerque, where it's only five thousand feet. We ride around here like idiots for a week, so you can acclimate. We'll ride the 'Puerco, then we'll ride Southern in Rio Rancho, the we'll ride Montessa Park. After you acclimate a little, we'll ride Coyote Canyon and Cedro, then we'll go ride Jemez.

After you unsissy yourself, we'll all head up to CO and pin some throttles. All without ever taking any drugs. Well, maybe a little local alcohol. Hehe...

This looks way more fun than the TransLab! I've always wanted to do the Rockies on a smaller bike.

I've watched this video at least 6 times. There are two passes that I would not be interested in doing. One is Black Bear Pass and the other starts with a 'P'....sounded something like Poughkeepsie, but I couldn't quite catch the name. Those two passes made my stomach jump and churn and I was only watching a video!

I would think the month of July/August would be the best time to do this sort of thing.

Also, I think the big supermoto front wheel is a drawback. I am entertaining Wayne's idea of switching out the front wheel. Or, more simple yet......maybe adding another couple bikes to the stable ;-)

Okay....so let's take this topic out of the "potential" schedule, and let's start planning. 1st of all, can I go? I just invited myself.

Jim and I were talking about this trip and we would just take the DRZ's the way they are (the way they were setup for the FODS this past spring) with the Heidenau tires.

What's the time frame? I vote for end of July/early August (due to the fact that the mountain passes are so easily prone to snow).

Hey.....we could maybe rent a house for the time out there and do day trips?

C'mon.....this'll be really fun!!!
