    PC III Mapping

I'd like to share some Gen 2 PC III map data to anyone that still has one of these. When I installed my PC III years ago the main reason was to eliminate the mid corner Hesitation that plagues these bikes and many others. It did not help. Computer calculated fuel consumption went from 43 ish to...

    Gen II DOA

Sorry I don't know how to make this short and still include pertinent data. Parked the bike in a warm dry basement for the winter. Everything was fine. Started it a couple weeks ago. Started perfect, idled and ran perfect. After a ride of 10 or so miles the engine started cutting out above 1/2...

    Non Consistent Performance

I've been battling this issue since last year, and am running out of money. I'll try to explain as best I can. Normal cruise, say 60 MPH. If you let off on the throttle, and then bring it back on slowly the engine will start to pull a little (not as much as it should) but then at 1/8 throttle...

    Maine Chowda Run

First things first. A huge Thank You goes out to De Oppresso Libe… (CJ), and Fred W for starting and finishing the organization of this ride. It is perhaps one of the best, and most fun rides I have been on. Why, you ask? Because: 1. The weather was perfect. Temps in the high 60’s and low...

    First Gear Mesh 3/4 Jacket

I just got a First Gear 3/4 length mesh Jacket that comes with a removable linner. (I'd post a link but it is discontinued and I can't find one.) They claim the linner will keep you dry in the rain. It seems to be made with that in mind as it has gutters sown into the zipper flaps to channel the...

    Escort 8500 Question

I just installed an 8500 and used the Escort motorcycle adapter to connect it to the Audiovox, which is a ground loop isolator audio cable. It worked for one day and quit. Seems the adaptor cable is FUBARed. Has anyone else used this cable sucessfully? Did I just get a bad one? Thanks in advance.

06 Stalls when put in gear

Took the bike out for the first time today. Should have stayed home. Leaving the driveway when I shifted to 2nd the engine died. WT? Stupid sidestand I thought. Cycles the side stand a few times bike started and ran fine. Nervous at this point I rode up and down the road with in pushing distance...

    Regulator Rectifier Question

Every time I unplug the wires on the RR on my 06 I get more oil out of the cannon plug. Looks like motor oil. Not a lot of oil, maybe a 1/4 teaspoon. At first I thought it had been put in there for anti corrosion, but it seems to keep happening. Thoughts?

    Russel Seat Question

I have a build date for a Day Long seat. I have my pictures and all ready to go. Just haven't decided on which type of seat to get. I like the looks of the "New" FJR seat. The wife is short and it looks like this will sit her higher so she can see better. Does anyone have this style? Do you...

    Autocom

Does anyone know? I tried to purchase cables from their US distributor Link They are out of stock on what I needed and said they weren't getting any more. I was told they are dropping the Autocom line and that a new US distributor was going to be reappointed, and to call the UK. I called the...

    Midland GMRS

I'm looking at the Midland GXT900 GMRS for bike to bike. GXT900 Do you have to carry that big 2 hole desk top charger stand around with you to recharge this at night? Seems there must be something more compact. Any help would be appreciated.

    Couldn't wait any longer

Edit 09/19/08 There's FJR's everywhere! The hotel is full of them. Everywhere you ride you see them. Every gas station has a few. I rode the New River Gorge Bridge ride to day. Very nice ride. Perfect weather. Can't thank the route planners enough. This is so neat! Edit: 09/18/08 Road the...

    The Bunker

Has anyone thought about doing this Bunker Tour? Bunker Tours Or, has anyone ever done it and is it worthwhile? I know we are here to ride but it is close by, only takes 1.5 hours, and I have always been curious of big holes in the ground where my (and many others) money has been deposited.

    OCC Show Tonight

Tonights OCC show is featuring a chopper they built for Sikorsky Aircraft. We picked up the Tutles a couple of times in NY and brought them to the Sikorsky factory in CT for tours etc. I am told our big blue and white helicopter is going to be on the show. I already missed the 9PM (EST) show but...

    RF 1000

Has anyone sucessfully installed an Autocom (or any other for that matter) set of speakers and a microphone in an RF1000 helmet? I am in the process of doing that but it isn't going too well. I've got it mostly done, but I have almost ruined a brand new helmet in the process. (exaggeration but...

    Pain in my @ss

I could not ride on the stock 06 seat. after 1.5 hrs it would hurt....bad. Not just uncomfortable, it hurt my "sit bones" which I'm told is the bottom of your pelvis (?) like a knife on each side. I tried to dish out the original foam to make it more comfortable and then it was good for a couple...

    Tip Over Insurance

I finished the installation of the group buy suspension, (Thanks Warchild) only to find my bike had a pretty large lean angle when on the sidestand. The rear shock was longer than the original even after shortening it as far as it would go. The front forks, while no longer than original, did not...
