Cagers driving in fog w/ no headlights

Only thing worse than driving sans lights in fog is the idiots with highbeams/driving lights in the fog. I really liked my Saab as it was a German built but US spec car. It had the rear fog light (bright red marker light in the rear on the drivers side only, could see those well before the...

    The Wave or The Nod?

I guess I use the sport bike wave after years of riding a 600CBR. Only time I nod is when my hand is occupied pulling in the clutch. Groups get one looooong wave. BMW riders wave to me all the time here, only 2 FJRs I have seen and lots of BMWs. Probably think I am on a BMW.

    riding with high beams on

I run low beams during the day. I find that when I am in my Jeep an oncoming MC with high beams on it is distracting (along with Harleys and their triple headlight look from high power driving lights or the ricer cars running driving lights during the day). Those modulating headlights are even...

    SW-FOG for 2008???

Hope I am still here for it. Looks like I will be moving to Germany in Spring/Summer 08. Autobahn should be fun on the FJR. :clapping:

If there are not enough 50+ posters I would take one. 36 posts and counting (this is actually 37) but not post-padding.

    Helmet; Best Ventilated Full Face???

85 degrees is hot? Sorry but living in the desert Southwest of the US made me laugh at that one. It is still gettin into the 90s here in October. Summer can get to 115.

    FJR Deer Hunting

Glad you are OK. Looks like the bike is probably gonna be "totalled" by insurance. Had a close call with a deer myself last week. Lucky it was a faster runner than yours was.

Corbin Canyon close Yeah or Nay

Thanks all, looks like I will stay with the stock seat. At 6'2" it sounds like I would have issues. Lower is definately not a plus for me. I had a Corbin seat on my CBR and loved it. Guess I can spend the extra $$ on my Jeep instead. :yahoo:

    Decal qualification change

200 posts, hmmm. Guess I better get to padding my count. There that is one less I have to do. :yahoo:

O.M.G., FJR is near match to Hayabusa performance?

I guess how the race ends depends on how far you race. Stoplight to stoplight might only be a 2-3 sec race and the Busa And FJR are about equal. If you race 1/4 mile drag track then hands down teh Busa wins. On a 1000 mile race bet the Busa rider quits before they finish due to discomfort...

    SW-FOG for 2008???

I would be interested. Tombstone area has lots of nice rides (I am about 15 minutes away in Sierra Vista).

Corbin Canyon close Yeah or Nay

Anyone running one of these? Thinking of picking one up and wanted to get some feedback on comfort. Thanks

O.M.G., FJR is near match to Hayabusa performance?

Maybe it is just me but a 0-60 time diff of 0.3 sec seems pretty close. Yeah the Busa will pull away after that but it is interesting that depending on the drivers the FJR could keep up with the Busa for a little bit. Of course once the Busa rider is cramped up and has to stop for gas we can...

I am around 205 dressed to ride and the wife is about 150. No problems 2 up for us.

    Idle RPM???

Mine idles at great at 1000rpm now. Was at around 800 for some reason and it stalled at almost every stop unless I gave it a bit of throttle.

    The FJR can't cruise

I agree the FJR isn't a "cruiser". Then again Harley's aren't sport tourers. I ride with mostly sportbikes but sometimes I ride with a group of Harleys. Always seem a bit to slow for me but I enjoy the company so it makes up for it. Most of the time I ride by myself.

    Stalling At Idle

Good advice. I was thinking along those lines myself. Bike has been sitting for 2 months so not sure if it will "correct" itself after I drive it a bit. Still, prob is time for service on it anyway.

Do people ask you what your bike is??

Usually I get the "Nice bike, I love BMW's". Almost never have anyone know what is is. Yesterday I did have a guy say he like the "futuristic look of the new bikes". Mine is an 04. I like the fact that there aren't a ton of FJRs running around. Heck the guards at the gate to our base wave...

    Stalling At Idle

Never mind I found it. Little gold knob. Should have Googled it first, had another thread from here with a pic. I love this site! :clapping:

    Stalling At Idle

OK, I looked 4 times for an idle adjust knob. It isn't mentioned at all in the owners manual and nothing on the bike looks like the adjustment knobs I am used to. Can anyone be specific as to location and what it looks like or post a pic so I can find it? I ride an 04 if that matters.
