Sooooo, I've heard and read a lot about the new Hexacone for the FJR1300 offered by Remus.

Can someone please take some bitchin' photos and perhaps a 10-20 sec video up on Youtube so the masses can see?

Bueller?? :dribble:

Thanks.

You don't need pictures or sound clips. Just buy them.

I have always been one who swore off any kind of aftermarket exhaust for the FJR. But one look at the Remus hex and it was Viva Viagra baby! I spent money I did not have on something that I did not need (but sorely wanted).

They are a superb exhaust with a far superior "note" than stock, without being so damn loud. I have put about 4,000 miles on mine with at least 1,500 two-up. The GF never complains about the db level, even with the restrictors out.

Hey all,

I was contacted by Knut from Maxmoto on this past Weds and my Hexacones FINALLY SHIPPED(Was suppose to be shipped 08/04/07). I am excited to finally get them but a bit disappointed with how long they took to get and shipped out to me.

Knut seems like a very nice guy. Though, any of you looking for a GROUP BUY might be disappointed. It didn't sound like he was interested in discounting the Remus Hexacones anymore. Who knows maybe he can't.?.?.? He did give me his WFO price on them because me and my brother both ordered a set shipped together. Fair enough I suppose. I tried (cause I am a cheap bastard) to see if he could discount them anymore ($900 for a pair of slip ons seems like a lot of money to me) for us considering that we were purchasing two sets(shipped together) and in exchange for anymore of a discount I offered to do some , "Forum Advertising (including a lot of pics posted and maybe a install guide) and some Youtube Advertising(video and sound clips)...... BUT he said(I Quote), "I am Not interested in that kind of thing what so ever and could not stomach anymore discounts."

Having said that, Knut and Frank ,out at Maxmoto (San Fran CA), have always been real nice and easy to converse with and seemed straight and fair. Now, I have met Jed (here in MN) and he is a very nice guy and VERY VERY helpful. I will let you all know how me and my Brothers Hexacones turn out. I suspect that if you can get the WFO/CFO (?) price you will be getting a fair enough deal and that Knut is not making as much on these pipes as you would think.

SO THE MORALE TO THIS POST IS THAT IF YOU WANT CHEAP PRICED PIPES SHOP ELSE WHERE, BUT I THINK THE HEXACONES ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY. LIKE MOST THINGS, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR AND THE HEXACONES APPEAR TO BE QUALITY. HIT JED UP FOR SOME MORE PICS AND MAYBE SOME VIDEO OR SOUND CLIPS AS HE IS A COMPANY REP.

WW

I'll be making my order in the next day or so... my set are in and I just have to work the details of paying for them. If nobody else has done so, when I get mine, I'll take pics and see if I can capture a video/sound clip somehow and post it...

OK, dogpile the living shit out of me..

BUT -

what makes these better than HoleShot, StainTune, Bassani, Jardine, SuperTrapp, etc?

I've been riding 4-stroke dirt bikes before they were popular and street bikes for many years and can recall all the various manufactures who did darn near anything to seperate themselves from the 'pack' with the 'latest and greatest' 'best sounding' 'power producing' high priced system ever.. even if it was just a different shape.. with no real effect.

Examples? Honda and the two-muffler CRF line from about a year or two ago, Bassini and the 4-1 that actually cost power, FMF? (IIRC) with the tri-oval, etc.

So, an honest question, and absolutely no attack on Remus, matter of fact, I applaud and THANK them for attending WFO! :yahoo: , but what, from an actual users experience, seperates them from the rest of the pack? What makes this new shape so much better for the dollar invested?

..and if it all boils down to they look different, sound good, and I want it - that's good too!
