So I surfed over to the Marriott website and attempted to reserve a room with two queens (beds, that is) on the lower level. Sorry, no gotta. So again, two queens anywhere in the hotel (except maybe the boiler room). Sorry, no gotta. King? They got that, but not comfortable sharing a bed with my brother. I've heard he doesn't like to wear anything to bed :dribble:

So I call the trollfree line. Yup, they got rooms, but what's that FJR group thingy? So I give her the secret code and she says that will be 99 bucks a night. Good deal. Tell her I want two queens (beds, that is) or two whatever beds because my roomie is a Mr. Natural when he beds down for the night :angry2: She tells me she put me down for two queens preferred, though they don't have any available since that is so long from now. WTF?, repeat, WTF!!!

I wouldn't worry too much about the bed count right now. We have a pretty even mix and after checking with the Hotel, the remaining rooms have the same proportion. Sounds like the reservation line may not have all of the current info...

I did that too. I requested a wet bar. There was not even a button for it. I called them and asked then if this was Utah............ OK, I am bull$h1Tting....... I dont care what they give me. But if you want to swap when the time comes I dont care. I can do one or two beds........ Matters not. I will be sleeping........ (not really sleeping) with my Pillion so I dont care.

There was one 'suspect' in Reno last year. He was so 'queenie', he won a set of tires or something at the wet T-shirt contest. He was subsequently caught on camera running across a highway out in the desert.

I registered myself and MsNASCAR yesterday. Didn't get a "Marriott Room Discount Code" yet. But I'm not worried. Just ask TWN why. I picked up the "03 and '07 Feejers from the shop today and itching for some ridin'
All route reservations made. Leavin' SoCAL 2am Saturday for 2 nights in Zion, 2 in N. Rim, 1 in Torrey, 3 in Park City and 1 in Vegas and then home sweet home.

Just offhand, where are you staying in Torrey? Not much there that I saw, besides one of the 2 campgrounds I stayed at on a Sturgis ride a few years back.

We've stayed at the Chuckwagon Motel and Skyridge Inn B&B in the past but are now considering Wonderland Inn. Why do you ask?

Torrey is this little one horse town at the end of a great ride [utah 12] and the one time I passed through I didn't notice much of anything other than a campground I stayed at and a gas station.

Unless they have more doubles then single-bed rooms, I will be willing to swap mine with someone who really needs two beds in the event that I get 2 Queens. Although I usually find it nice to have “a runner up mattress” at cheaper hotels in case one of them turns out to be crap, I don't think I'll need "a runner up" at the Marriott...

I appreciate the offer SB. I am going to give them a call later this morning.

Called them back this morning and she said that the majority of the beds in the hotel were two to a room. She was confident that most everyone would get the type of accomodations they preferred. End of story...no sweat

The registration, PayPal, and e-mail notification process with hotel codes is settling in. Instead of batches every couple days I'm usually able to send e-mails several times a day. We're up to 122 paid attendees and all should have received their hotel codes.....if they paid!

The list is getting rather short. We were discussing this topic in Reno and I think it may be Sharp, Warchild, Hmarc, ocfjr and you two. There may be another 1 or 2. (The Rogdebs were in England when Skagit was held).

I'm sure warchild was not at the first 2 WFOs. I do remember HMarc.

I have not attended all of them missing WFO2 but I've been at all the rest.

I rode all night to make the Friday ride to lunch at the "Healdsburg Hootenanny". WFO3 my FJR was totalled but I showed up in my truck with my XR in the back. WFO4 was just before the '05 IBR and I showed up Friday for BBQ but left late Saturday night after the festivities. WFO5 last year I helped during registration a day early and left early Sunday.

Thanks to Pegscraper, HMarc and WC for their heavy involvement in WFOs early on and to Sharp, TWN, Ignacio, MM, that weird couple from around Yakima (YKWYA) and anybody else I've left off that's had a hand in helping pull off the various owner's meetings. Its really been fun and I'm looking forward to WFOs in the future.
