Oh no Bob - you didn't. This is a bucket list trip, man. No corner cutting happening on this one, bud. Minimum 2 weeks for me - maybe 18 days. By the time this trip comes, you will be almost done work wise - remember, we don't get to decide!!!!
I've caged PCH, but would like to ride it as well. Never been to Lake Tahoe - that would be super cool to see. At some point, I will need to sit with the map and really look it over.
I can work up a rough itinerary for you... stay tuned.

Okay here's a very rough draft for your perusal... it can easily be lengthened to give you more time in the places you want to spend more time (or less)... but this, I think, will give you a good basic overview of our backyard... oceans, mountain passes, redwoods, parks, etc. There are a ton of roads in all directions so the sky is the limit.

I will have to map that out, but first perusal me likey! Where is "Day of Rest, Tahoe"? I can't find that on the map.

The "day of rest" in Tahoe could be spent running up and down US50 from the lake to Carson City - all day long.

Tyler - excellent work, as predicted. Like Bob, I'll have to take some time with the map and visualize it for myself.

Just off the cuff, this is shaping up to be a 7,500 mile trip (and perhaps much longer) for me. Much longer for our Eastern brethren. Something to think about will be tires. Perhaps ship a set somewhere on that end? Maybe think about a tech 1/2 day? Just a thought.

Yeah - the waiting for this is gonna drive me bonkers, man....

Oh Lord, Tyler! With that sort of pro forma itinerary, and having been a part of what Don named the Wheaties "cluster feck", I don't see how I can miss this one. Gotta get back to more riding, projects should be done by then and too many folks are gone already. So, I'm

IN!

Figure out the mileage (tires, oil and trip legs) and I'm sure that is doable. As one of several adequately equipped Californicators, I have tools, compressor and tire changing station (Cycle Hill stand and Parnes balancer) here in Grass Valley. I'm sure lots of such options will come up as this c-feck approaches.

Holy smokes, that covers a whole lot of California! On second thought, maybe I will bid for a full week of vacation.

Tyler, I'm sure glad you took this on, I'm riding, not organizing, in 2017.

I'm hoping my Mate, Festar, will return for round 3!

Looks like I will be meeting the cluster-feckers in Benton Hot Springs on Saturday night. Back home Sunday night or Monday night if I get an extra day off.

You can visualize it with a map but there will be lots of squigglies in between that you have no idea about...

I'm predicting that in less than 10 posts, my friend Brodie will chime in and suggest going to a CT on the rear - he says that his last 30,000 miles or more!
