my wife is questioning weather or not she would be welcomed if she is riding an fz6is this a fjr specific event

i dont think she will ride on the back of my fjr and im deffinatly not riding on the back of my fjr

however we both really want to tour the island and this sounds liek a great way to do so
She is absolutely welcome and there is another woman who will be riding a FZ6 too, MEM from New Brunswick.

OK it's officially a party now - Sylvia and I are in and paid! We were supposed to be at our son's wedding the same weekend but that's now deferred to July 2011 - so we're in!

Today I heard some really good things about that strip clubs on the island...... :yahoo: :yahoo:
R
You missed out on the GOOD PAR EXCELLENT ballets at the CFR en la belle province by all reports.

I do not have firsthand knowledge since I was socializing in the hottub with the ladies; however, the 'race crowd' did report back on their findings :fans:

rumour has it, he's just plain afraid to come...erm, cum...or...

Oh hell, nvrmnd

Damnit. Not gonna make this one.

shoot dude, you still avoiding me? I thought bygones were bygones. I heard Beemerdons is missing this gig too. Won't be the same without you guys. Maybe better, but not the same.

Ah well, more space at the overlook above the nudie beach.

Hope you change your mind about coming up to Vancouver.

I guess I will have to pack the F2.8 300mm telephoto for the Nikon.

Now don't you be calling me a pervert, I prefer to think of myself as a photojouralist documenting the beauty of nature .

It depends. Keep the photos to yourself and you're a perv. Share pics of bathing beauties and you are a hero.

Of course, pictures of guys around this place in a naked state put you on the FBI most wanted list.

Call it porn and you get arrested. Call it art and you can get government grants. I offer most of the films coming out of Quebec as proof. :blush2:

I was thinking about shipping the bike to Calgary and then flying out to meet it in an attempt to remove the boring bits of the trip. I think I would fall asleep going through Saskatchewan. Anyways the quotes all seem to be coming in at about $1100 each way to ship the bike. Add on the cost of the return flight and I am now definately riding out $$$. Money saved will buy many Crown Royals.

My buddy and I were planning to do a x-Canada trip this summer (since cancelled). We were looking at shipping our bikes to Fredericton from Vancouver and riding back. The quotes we got to ship through Canada were similar to yours, about $1100.

Then we looked at shipping through the US from Seattle to Portland, Maine and the quotes were in the $650 to $700 range. I don't know if that kind of saving would be enough to tip the scales for you but it might be interesting to get some quotes from say Buffalo to Seattle. Then you just need to work out a way to get the bike to Buffalo.

Most of my ill-spent youth was drinking in the bars of Buffalo. Most of them got burnt down.

Getting to and from Buffalo is very easy for me since my sister-in-law works in Buffalo. Ride the bike to Buffalo, have my sister-in-law pick me up and drop me off at the train station in Niagara Falls, take VIA Rail back to Oshawa (the train has a bar car) and then catch the GO Bus home.

Unfortunately I have run out of time to arrange all of this since I am going to be away (leaving for a dual-sport bike tour of Iceland). When I get back I have a few other commitments before taking off for the left coast.

Whoa, Bill! El Cajone is going to shoot me, but you have to start a separate thread on your dual sport tour of Iceland. I know Helge Pedersen who wrote "10 Years on 2 Wheels", his around the world adventure book. Helge raves about riding dirt in Iceland! Please set up a stand alone post on how you have prepared for this trip to Iceland and all of the logistics. Inquiring old fart minds want to know!

I will be starting a thread over on ADV Rider once the trip gets a little closer. I'll be renting a Yamaha XT660 R for the trip.

I fly out of Toronto on July 17th.

Thread highjack ON

For those interested here is the ride report I did over on Adventure Rider forum on my trip to New Zealand.

Billy & the Great Pumpkin tour New Zealand

Everyone who has ever put a leg over a motorcycle needs to have this trip in their bucket list.

If you want to read a thread by someone who actually knows how to write check out this thread.

Warning - be prepared to spend some time because once you get started it will be hard to shut it down.

Angola, it's not like they said.

Thread highjack OFF

I am only following Unwritten Rule #1

Is there any word on Rally Shirts yet ? Or am I missing the obvious ? -- which is not that unusual lately  Barb ??
barb & Jeff are working out what we're doing for rally shirts now so there should be some decisions shortly. barb's having some computer problems so she may not see your message for awhile.

Cheers,

Rally Coordinator (El Cajone)
