How hard do you run your FJR, and how often?

After 110,000 miles on my '05 FJR I believe I can safely report that on nearly every ride it goes to redline at least once during the ride. YMMV.

Poor planning on my part when that happens during a pass...

Get yourself an AE, you can just flick that little lever and in an instant you can go even faster. Unless you've hit the limiter in 5th

What petey said. I can testify that he typically rides 10 mph below the limit.

Yeah, the judges around here will immediately dismiss all charges when that defense is used. Sorta like "You can't get into trouble in second gear."

I ride my FJR like a grandma -- at least compared to fellow members I met at last year's Hooterville. Took my bike into the shop for the 24,000 mile check, and the service rep said, "Dude, where are your chicken strips?"

I told him I rarely lean the bike over, and he was probably looking at virgin rubber from the center all the way to the sidewalls.

Generally, I ride in the 3-4K shift range. Then there are those times, some will know what I'm talking about, where I'll go through the gears (1-3) until I hear the rev limiter in each gear. Some feel the need for speed, others don't. To each their own.
