Of course I think that if this group buy went according to plan instead of falling off the tracks there won't be so many reads...

I myself watch this thread closely because I have some miss placed coin on the line.

Another two weeks have passed without any news. Are there any friends of Skyway who can shed any light on the situation ?

Can anyone else get to skyway's website?

Yes? have you tried that?

and how'd that work?
:D

Thanks but I have tried all those numbers. I have tried e-mail and several PMs. I spoke with Ian back on December 7th and thought we finally had an arrangement. I have been mislead and lied to. This deal is on the verge of criminal. I sent two money orders in good faith and they have been cashed and Ian does not even have the decency to return my messages. What a joke..................live and learn.

Gosh you guys make it tough.....I'd like to say but I promised....

Still working on my short essay.

Due for viewing by all March 7/08

I will also be sending out PM's for people I have had conversations with.

I almost bought in on this fuel cell deal but, in the end, figured it was a bit too much expense for my situation, hoping to still do a lot of two-up riding on the FJR and, as things have worked out for me, it looks like I did the right thing. Not because of the way things with this project have transpired, but because I really don't think I need to replace my pillion seat with a fuel cell after all.

However, part of me wishes I would have gotten in, so I would have a concerned stake in the outcome of the efforts in seeing this thing through. I consider Ian a true friend, one I would never have met if it weren't for my passionate relationship with my motorcycle, just like Andrew was. As a friend and interested participant in this, it would have been one of the subjects we discussed when we did talk from time to time, so I would have been in a position to relate developments to the rest of the folks interested in getting a fuel cell. I don't call him much at all, as I know Ian is very busy trying to get his business to the point where it makes him a living, but beyond that, like with Andrew, I have no theory to offer as to why he is out of touch on this issue, other than the dread of opening a new can of worms, with folks wanting refund money he may not still have, and lots of new questions that arise from any update he could give.

I do know that the stuff he produces is well thought out and top-quality workmanship, and if I had invested in this project, I would be confident that I would eventually get a product that was a good value compared to what I had paid. Auxiliary fuel cells for the FJR are scarcely available, and the limited demand for them hardly offsets R&D costs, which probably explains why the scarcity, not to mention the liability of the vendor for a fuel container scabbed onto the outside of a bike.

Perhaps someone else, who may be seeing Ian soon

, can get some info and bring it back to this thread, as I agree the people who invested in this project so greatly deserve.

Toe, I don't have a dog in this fight either.

I also don't know Ian, have never personally met him. The products that I do have from him are top notch. There's no disputing that.

That being said. I highly suspect that quite a few folks are/and have been biting their tongues and have been for quite a while because he's is (or was) one of fjrforum's own so-to-speak.

That doesn't over-come what's happened here. He's taken a multitude of peoples monies at this point and delivered nothing back but empty promises in the little communiction those folks have gotten.

I shudder to imagine the flashback that would be on this board if this were MCL or any other non-home-grown vendor. I really don't understand the free pass he's been given to this point.

Personally, I would have demanded a refund long ago.

I wish him the best, and know first hand how hard it is to start your own business. But that doesn't excuse what's gone down to date. In my mind, his reputation has been seriously damaged. I seriously doubt I could, in good faith, ever purchase another Skyway product, no matter how good, if there isn't faith you'll ever see it, why take the risk?

As much as I personally like Ian & His products, I wish I had went another direction on this fuel cell. I would've had another fuel in a few weeks had I not became involved here. Hopefully it will come soon, If it takes much longer I'll just let Him keep it & or the money since I am that frustrated at this point. I have talked with Him in person (WFO) & on the phone but it has been too long to remember when it was. The last email I sent a week or so ago didn't get an answer. I ordered some armor from Him yesterday but it hasn't been shipped or filled yet as far as I know. It should ship soon, Have'nt had problems with other stuff I've ordered from Skyway.

Thank God Skyway is good people & the admin will allow this to continue . . . Another vendor might have been sent down the road by now it would appear.
